We are thrilled to announce that ASSET Visiting Fellow 2023, Krupa Sekhar, has been awarded the prestigious Yenching Academy Scholarship.

Recognized as one of the world's most competitive fully funded fellowships, the Yenching Scholarship supports an elite interdisciplinary Master’s degree at Peking University.

Krupa, a Computer Science and Global Asia Studies major at Cornell University and ASSET Visiting Fellow of 2023, has charted an interdisciplinary path at the intersection of technology, sustainable design, and cultural heritage. Through research and creative initiatives across India, Malaysia, Scotland, and Hong Kong, she has explored how local knowledge and cultural traditions can shape sustainable futures.

As a Yenching Scholar, she will further this work by conducting research on architectural design and historic preservation in China’s rapidly transforming urban environments.
