Advanced Centre for Sustainable Socio-Economic and Technological Development (ASSET) is established as a research centre at the School of Computing and Creative Media, University of Technology Sarawak to develop people-centered innovation and technological solutions for sustainable socio-economic development of underserved communities. The centre promotes holistic, people-oriented and community-based contextualized research and development activities, particularly encompassing technological innovations for indigenous communities.

The Participatory Design Conference (PDC) 2024 was held in Sibu, Malaysia, hosted by University of Technology Sarawak on 11th - 16th August 2024, where the theme was "Reaching Out: Connecting Beyond Participation".
Guest Lecture (online) on Co-Designing VR for Indigenous Knowledge Preservation on May 13, 2024 at 19:00 (MYT)
"Co-Designing Digital Technologies with the Indigenous Communities of Borneo" on Thursday, March 14 from 1:30-2:30 PM (Alberta, Canada Time).
